90-96 Corvette Dash Gauge Cluster LCD LED Polarizing Polarization Film Kit 3M

Description

Pictured is a polarization film kit to repair the LCD panel found in 1990-1996 Corvette  dash clusters. It is NOT the entire glass LCD.
High quality die cut 3M overlay pattern, best available.
The process involves removing the cluster from the car and disassembling it to remove the LCD
Instructions are included on how to replace the old faded film on the LCD with the parts provided in the repair kit
The LCD found in the 90-96 Corvette instrument clusters was designed in the 1980’s and consists of front and rear polarizers, an internal glass etched panel/fluid, and glass bonded integrated driver chip.
This film kit will correct only UV faded LCD’s. It will not fix LCD issues related to fractures, connectors, or driver chip delamination
.
If your LCD is partially functioning and only a few segments are not working then the issue may lie with the latter and you will need a NEW LCD and/or connector.
The best way to determine if the LCD is UV damaged is to take a pair of polarized sunglasses and hold them in front of the LCD display with the ignition on. While rotating the sunglasses (make sure they are polarized sunglasses!) if you see an improvement in the display segments then the LCD is most likely UV faded and this kit will work well.  Also If  you can faintly see the LCD working (with out using sunglasses) then again, re-polarization may work.
