**Disclaimer – I recommend cleaning the kayak with acetone to remove any contaminates. Although the 3M tape provided has worked very well for most customers I always recommend additional adhesive such as Lexel Caulk, or something else similar to permanently bond it to your kayak.
These keel guards provide a close fit to your kayak keel, and are shaped to fit the kayak type listed in the title. There may be gaps around the edges, which is normal, and that’s why we recommend adding an additional adhesive to prevent any water from creeping in and affecting the tape.
You can warm the keel guards up using a heat gun or place in a warm oven to squeeze it around your specific kayak to have a closer fit if desired. (be sure it’s heated enough before adjusting or the keel guard may crack)
