RA-2TA
Bi-directional Repeater Adaptor

This handy device cross-connects (1)
MOTOTRBO
digital radio with (1) Analog FM radio.
Signals received on Radio A are retransmitted by Radio B and vice versa.
APPLICATION NOTES
The RA-2TA is intended primarily for
cross-band
linking.  It deploys very easily when connected to two radios
operating in different frequency bands
to link two groups of users (one FM, one TRBO).
Examples: Cross-connect
VHF FM to UHF TRBO
, or
UHF FM to VHF TRBO
, or
VHF-Lo FM to VHF or UHF TRBO
, etc.  In such (cross-band) deployments, antenna changes are typically not required.
If desired, RA-2TA
can
be used
in-band
if consideration is given to the antenna system (adequate RF isolation between the two linking radios must be maintained to avoid receiver desensitization).
If the FM channel to be linked is a
repeater channel
,  the dropout delay of
that repeater should be made as short as possible (zero dropout delay
is best).
